My love for baking started young — standing on a step stool in my grandma's kitchen, flour on my nose, learning to knead dough with her hands guiding mine. She taught me that the best bread takes patience, and that feeding people is one of the truest ways to love them. She's no longer here, but every time I shape a loaf, I feel her with me. This bakehouse carries her spirit in every bake.
The Happy Starter Bakehouse was born from a simple belief she planted in me: everyone deserves access to bread that is truly good for them. We bake from our home kitchen in Marne using a live sourdough starter and real, wholesome ingredients — no preservatives, no chemicals, no shortcuts. Every loaf is slow-fermented, hand-shaped, and available for local pickup, because nourishing food should be something anyone can get their hands on.
